Write to Gnome Vasyl

Vasyl has only one lamp and one evening at a time. Each month he writes a few letters for real people, free of charge.

Tell him about the person the letter is for. Yulia reads every request herself and chooses which ones Vasyl will answer. Not every request is answered, and an answer can take a month or more.

If Vasyl writes, his letter arrives by email as a file you print at your own table, then fold and leave where it will be found.

One day Vasyl will carry letters out of the world to real postboxes again. The bridge is still being mended. Until then, he writes, and you deliver.

If you have heard nothing in six weeks, his desk was full this time. You are welcome to write again.

Who the letter is for

Who is the letter going to? A first name is enough — it is the name Vasyl will write in ink.
optional Vasyl writes differently to a child of five and to a woman of eighty.
What they love, what they are like, what they always do. Vasyl writes to a person, not to an address.
Step two

What you would like them to hear

optional The occasion, the change, or the moment this letter belongs to — a birthday, a move, a first day at school, a hard week.
Not the words themselves — the feeling you would like left behind when they fold the letter up.

Vasyl reports what he saw, and he invents nothing. He does not write as someone who has died, he does not place anyone among the stars, and he does not arrive as a surprise for someone who is grieving. Yulia reads every request, and may leave one unanswered without giving a reason.

So Vasyl knows who asked for the letter.
This is where Vasyl's letter will come, if he writes. Nothing else is ever sent to it.

Your answers are used only to answer this request. Nothing is subscribed to, and no address is ever asked for.

Vasyl cannot promise a date, so please don't write to him for a deadline.
