Write to Gnome Vasyl

Vasyl is the postman of TaleWorld. He walks the village, he sees what happens, and he writes it down — and once he has a name, he will carry a letter out of the world to a real postbox.

A letter written to order is bought at the post office on Etsy, and starts at $32. You ask here first, because Yulia reads every request before she agrees to write one — she would rather say no before your money is involved than after. If she says yes, she writes back with the road, the price, and where the letter is bought.

Step one

Who the letter is for

Who is the letter going to? A first name is enough — it is the name Vasyl will write in ink.
optional Vasyl writes differently to a child of five and to a woman of eighty.
What they love, what they are like, what they always do. Vasyl writes to a person, not to an address.
Step two

What you would like them to hear

optional The occasion, the change, or the moment this letter belongs to — a birthday, a move, a first day at school, a hard week.
Not the words themselves — the feeling you would like left behind when they fold the letter up.

Vasyl reports what he saw, and he invents nothing. He does not write as someone who has died, he does not place anyone among the stars, and he does not arrive as a surprise for someone who is grieving. Yulia reads every letter before it is sent, and may decline a request and return the payment without giving a reason.

Step three

The road

There are two roads out of TaleWorld. The long road is the ordinary post, and it takes its time. The fast road is express. Vasyl’s signature tells you which road the letter took.

optional A birthday, a journey, a day in hospital. Please write the month as a word — 28 December 2026 — so the day cannot be read two ways. If there is no date, leave this empty and the letter takes the long road.
The letter travels by real post, so the distance is what decides the road.
Step four

Where to reach you

So Vasyl knows who asked for the letter.
The only way back to you. Nothing else is ever sent to it.
